West Virginia Social Security Disability Attorney
You are not alone. According to the Social Security Administration (SSA), workers have a 30 percent chance of becoming disabled before retirement. Yet, even with this telling statistic, the SSA turns down more than 70 percent of initial applications for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). At Farmer, Cline & Campbell PLLC, we strive to help clients improve their chances of getting the help they need.
Our SSDI attorney, Shawn Taylor, focuses his entire legal practice on Social Security disability law. With nearly 20 years of legal experience, he has a full understanding of the SSDI application and appeals processes. You can count on him to give you solid, experienced representation.
What is SSDI? Am I eligible for SSDI?
Social Security Disability Insurance is available for individuals and families who have worked and paid Social Security taxes and now face permanent disabilities. If you are unable to work for one year or more because of your disability, you may receive monthly cash benefits from the SSA. The SSA strictly defines "disability" and needs considerable proof of your disabled condition to accept your application.
Our law office helps clients provide the medical records and other information they need to move forward with their SSDI application or appeal. If you are not eligible for SSDI, talk to us about Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
We go above and beyond
Many lawyers will only take on an SSDI case once the SSA denies a client's initial application. While we cannot file your claim for you, we will discuss your case with you to help you decide whether to file for SSDI.
If your claim is denied, we will work to provide the SSA or Administrative Law Judge with extensive information about your case. We will not ask you to find your medical records; we will collect and review them for you. All we need to know is who treated you.
Your medical and legal appointments are crucial to your success. Yet, it is often difficult to remember them. We will calendar all of your appointments and call you 24 hours in advance of each appointment so that you do not miss it. If you cannot make it to an appointment, we will call the disability examiner for you and ask them to reschedule.
Our goal is to make the SSDI process as simple for you as possible
We understand that your disability may make it difficult for you to get around. We are here to make the process for you as simple as possible. When you call us, we will set up an initial phone consultation so that you do not have to come into our office. We even have a field representative who will come to your home to sign documents if you cannot come to us. Of course, if you prefer to meet us in person, you may come to our Charleston or Beckley, West Virginia, law offices.
